Install Android Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy S2[official I9100XWLS8 firmware]

 
 
 
Recently, Samsung has rolled out Jelly Bean Update for Samsung Galaxy S 2. Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S 2 has a lot to offer, you can read in the link aforementioned, along with the region details about the same. But, it’s pending for numerous regions mentioned there, as you can see. If you can’t wait for the Over The Air update for your country, you can follow this tutorial to install in manually. Odin and few other things you’ll need and you’re good to go.

Prerequisites to Install Android Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S2

  • Back up all your data, messages, contacts, and other essentials before proceeding.
  • Charge your device to sufficiently sail through the whole process.
  • Keep the USB Data cable handy.

Files You’ll Need To Install Android Jelly Bean Update

  • Make sure the Samsung Galaxy S2 windows drivers are installed on your system. If not, you can download them from here(for x86) and here(for x64)
  • Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean I9100XWLS8 firmware for Galaxy S2, download it from here(541 MB). Unzip it.
  • Download the latest version of Odin3 from here. Unzip and install this tool on your system.

How To Install Android Jelly Bean Update On Samsung Galaxy S2

  • Switch Off your device. Reboot the device into downloading mode by pressing and holding the Volume Down Key + Home Key + Power Key. Check out the video, if facing any problem.
  • Once you’re in the download mode, connect it with your computer system, via the USB Data Cable. In Odin3, ID:COM will turn yellow confirming the successful connection of Samsung Galaxy S2.
  • Click on PDA Button and locate I9100XWLS8_I9100FOPLS3_FOP.tar.md5 from the Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean I9100XWLS8 firmware for Galaxy S2 file. Add the same.
  • Click on Start and allow Odin3 to install the latest Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S2. Wait for the process to terminate.
Note :- In case Odin3 refuses to install the firmware. Disconnect your device, pull out the battery and restart the phone into normally. Repeat the process again. Before you try it again, do wipe the cache partitions to prepare the device for the update. To do so, turn off the device, reboot into recovery mode and wipe data/factory reset the device. Boot normally once done.
