SkyDrive is one such service by Microsoft, which allows you to store some of your data (files) on the web – this is also called cloud based storage. Now when you know what SkyDrive is, you should know what exactly it provides us with.
It allows a hotmail account holder (a free hotmail id holder) to store 7GB of his/her data on the Microsoft’s database servers. If you want, you can upgrade it to a maximum of 100GB by paying to Microsoft under a specific subscription plan – the cost of a subscription depends upon the amount of storage you desire. Those who created their hotmail id before 22 April, 2012 can upgrade their storage temporarily from 7GB to 25GB, and after a specified time they have to pay as other SkyDrive users do.
