Benefits and dangers of rooting

Benefits and dangers of rooting

Benefits and dangers of rooting
What is Root ?
Rooting makes you a "super user" so to say, in that you can install custom Android OS ROMs, which can be helpful when your phone's manufacturer/provider decides that your phone will no longer receive firmware/software updates

Good
Rooting can also give you the ability to remove bloatware/unwanted applications that came pre-installed on your phone from your carrier or phone manufacturer, overclock your phone's processor for faster performance, and take screenshots of your phone, as well as many other valuable abilities.
Danger
When a phone is ruined during the rooting process, it is usually as useless as a brick or paperweight, thus the term "bricking your phone."

As far as I know, not every phone has been rooted, and even if a phone has been rooted, the rooting method may not have been released, or may be fairly complicated to accomplish.

microsoft skydrive android app

It allows a hotmail account holder (a free hotmail id holder) to store 7GB of his/her data on the Microsoft’s database servers. If you want, you can upgrade it to a maximum of 100GB by paying to Microsoft under a specific subscription plan – the cost of a subscription depends upon the amount of storage you desire. Those who created their hotmail id before 22 April, 2012 can upgrade their storage temporarily from 7GB to 25GB, and after a specified time they have to pay as other SkyDrive users do. You could access the SkyDrive service through a browser.
SkyDrive is now clear to us. Its time that I should inform you about the latest update SkyDrive has got. For all the android phone users SkyDrive will now be available as an application rather than a browser-based website service. Though the concept of storing the data/files on the cloud will remain the same, but just that SkyDrive will appear as an application to be installed to your android phone – nothing can be as sweet as this!
Though this update seems to be for all android phone holders, but it is to be kept in mind that only phones with OS as Gingerbread or higher support SkyDrive well (lower version OS may lag, and could possibly close the application in between of its operation). Some screen shots of the application have been taken & posted along with this article in order to familiarize it to you.
Through this application one can view the recently used documents, share files, and more – apart from uploading and viewing the files. I will bullet the key features of the new SkyDrive application for android phone, in order to give you a glimpse of it:
• Upload multiple photos, videos.
• Share your files by just sending a link.
• Open SkyDrive-ed files in other application. (This is very helpful at many times)
• You can quickly open files from the ‘recently viewed files’ section.
• Manage your data in SkyDrive by organizing them in different ways.
• Access all the SkyDrive-ed content plus the files shared with you.
I conclude by saying that, this app has come as a boon for those who do not have enough space on their phones/tablets but do have internet connectivity. I say it a boon for 2 reasons –
• May be you have a slow browser & now SkyDrive has been app-ed.
• You do not have an SD card option in your phone/tablet and thus your internal storage is limited.
If you love SkyDrive now, for at least the reasons mentioned above, then download & install it!

Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S2 And Galaxy Note Reportedly Coming In January

Update Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean
It seems that Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update after all, reportedly as of January 2013.
The owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 now have a real reason to cheer, as their devices will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, even though they were launched in 2011, coming pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. According to more or less official sources, it seems that the two aforementioned terminals will skip the Android 4.1.1 version and jump directly to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Besides the improvements brought by the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note will also be able to enjoy the highly-appreciated features on the new Galaxy Note 2.

Canada-based carrier Rogers, confirmed that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will roll out on the LTE variants of Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note. As you probably know, the carrier-branded terminals are usually receiving the firmware updates later than the unlocked models, so if you purchased one of the two models without a contract you might enjoy Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note by the end of January 2013.
At the moment we are waiting to hear an official confirmation coming from Samsung, but also how fast the firmware update will be rolled out.
Samsung Galaxy S2 was the company’s flagship smartphone in the 2011 line-up, packing a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core Exynos processor at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy Note was the first phablet of the South Korean company, and the main difference between it and the S2 was the display. The Android-powered phablet sports a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and the same Exynos chipset with a processor overclocked to 1.4 GHz.

Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for Samsung Galaxy S3 Will Reportedly Bring Some of Galaxy S4′s New Features

While the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for the Galaxy S3 is still awaited by the owners of the device, the company hasn’t mentioned anything about when it’s going to be released. Nevertheless, we have good news. No, we don’t now when the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean firmware upgrade is going to be pushed out, but we found out that it will include some surprises.
After the Samsung Galaxy S4 presentation, which fortunately didn’t take too long because it was rather odd and all kinds of thoughts were crossing my mind, none of them were good, we know everything about the new flagship. You must be familiar with the specs of the Galaxy S4 too, so I won’t go in too much details. The handset is supposed to bring a lot of cash for the South Korean company, but its release might be a good think for the users of the Galaxy S3, as well, and I don’t mean the individuals who will go for an upgrade.
There are over 40 million Galaxy S3 users all over the world, is some of them might be wondering if the new features included on the Galaxy S4 will be available for its predecessor. It’s a good question and if you are one of the Galaxy S3 owners you will be happy to hear that the answer is “yes” and they will be included in the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.
Samsung VP of Product Planning Nick DiCarlo has been kind enough to make all things clear by saying that all the cool new features will be available for all the flagship smartphones, as long as the functions don’t depend on the hardware sported only by the Galaxy S4.
However, if you hope that you’ll be getting the Air View feature on the Samsung Galaxy S3, I’m very sorry to tell you that you’re not that lucky. Also, there chances are small for you to receive applications like the TV remote and the S Health because they require an Infra Red port and a pedometer in order for them to work.
We don’t know exactly what features of the Galaxy S4 will be available for the Galaxy S3, but we can guess that the camera functions will be included in the update as they look like they don’t need complex software to work.
Also, the owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note 2 should be pretty excited as well because since the phablet is a high-end device, it will most likely receive the features via the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.
That’s it for now, but as soon we’ll have additional information about the matter we’ll let you know. Samsung has been busy preparing the Galaxy S4 Unpacked event, but now that it’s over, it will probably focus on other matters like the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update.
So, are you waiting for the Android 4.2.2 Jelly Bean update for your Galaxy S3, or you’ve already considering buying the S4?
