Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean Update For Samsung Galaxy S2 And Galaxy Note Reportedly Coming In January

It seems that Samsung Galaxy S2 and Samsung Galaxy Note will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update after all, reportedly as of January 2013.
The owners of the Samsung Galaxy Note and Galaxy S2 now have a real reason to cheer, as their devices will receive the Android 4.1 Jelly Bean update, even though they were launched in 2011, coming pre-loaded with Android 2.3 Gingerbread. According to more or less official sources, it seems that the two aforementioned terminals will skip the Android 4.1.1 version and jump directly to Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean.
Besides the improvements brought by the new Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean, the Samsung Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note will also be able to enjoy the highly-appreciated features on the new Galaxy Note 2.


Canada-based carrier Rogers, confirmed that Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean will roll out on the LTE variants of Galaxy S2 and Galaxy Note. As you probably know, the carrier-branded terminals are usually receiving the firmware updates later than the unlocked models, so if you purchased one of the two models without a contract you might enjoy Android 4.1.2 Jelly Bean on your Samsung Galaxy S2 or Galaxy Note by the end of January 2013.
At the moment we are waiting to hear an official confirmation coming from Samsung, but also how fast the firmware update will be rolled out.
Samsung Galaxy S2 was the company’s flagship smartphone in the 2011 line-up, packing a 4.3-inch Super AMOLED display, dual-core Exynos processor at 1.2 GHz, 1 GB of RAM and an 8 megapixel camera with full HD video recording capabilities. The Samsung Galaxy Note was the first phablet of the South Korean company, and the main difference between it and the S2 was the display. The Android-powered phablet sports a 5.3-inch HD Super AMOLED display, and the same Exynos chipset with a processor overclocked to 1.4 GHz.
